- Ankita is a queer-identifying psychologist, psychotherapist, and clinical supervisor with over two decades of experience in working with children, young people, families, and communities. She has served as Head of the Neurodiversity Hub at Children First India (2006–2025) and has also worked as a School Counselor at The Shri Ram School, Moulsari.
Her therapeutic practice is rooted in client-centered therapy, narrative approaches, and solution-focused brief therapy. As a certified Arts-Based Therapist and a lifelong student of yoga and indigenous healing traditions, Ankita integrates body, breath, art, and song into her work, creating safe and reflective spaces for healing and growth.
Ankita’s special interests lie in supporting queer persons and communities, as well as in advancing inclusive approaches to neurodiversity. Alongside her clinical work, she facilitates workshops and community-building initiatives that nurture collective wellbeing.
Ankita currently lives in the NCR with her partner Kavita and their rescue dog Chidiya. Kavita and Ankita were one of the lead petitioner couples in the recent fight for marriage equality in the Supreme Court of India.
