Bonita Rajpurohit

Mostly known for her portrayal of ‘Kullu’ in Dibakar Banerjee’s “Love, Sex aur Dhoka 2,” Bonita Rajpurohit was born and raised in Dornari, Rajasthan. She began her career by writing articles for ‘Youth Ki Awaaz’ and later transitioned into modeling for various brands and magazines, where she was crowned as the 2nd Runner-Up in Miss Trans Queen India 2019.

After appearing in several TV and digital commercials and struggling to find her space, she ventured into filmmaking with 1719 Film Factory in Vadodara, Gujarat. There, she assisted director Dhruv Solanki on his feature film “It’s All in Your Head” (2023), contributing to editing and acting in the project. Bonita also co-wrote, co-directed, and acted in another feature, “Blah Blah Blah,” with Dhruv Solanki, which is set to be released this year.

She made her debut as a writer and director with her short fashion film “You’re the New Standard” for URBANIC, followed by “iykyk,” which was incubated by KASHISH Arts Foundation and completed with the support of Alankrita Shrivastava and Neeraj Churi. The film premiered at the KASHISH Pride Film Festival 2024, where she received the Best Emerging Indian Filmmaker Award, along with special mentions for Best Performance in Lead and Best Indian Woman Filmmaker.

“iykyk” is also slated for its international premiere at the Iris Prize Film Festival in Wales, United Kingdom.
