David Ledain

David Ledain is a UK-based author of gay male non-fiction, who shares the stories of gay men through compelling and honest interviews. His first book, Gay Dad, now in its second edition, tells his own story as well as those of other gay and bisexual men from diverse backgrounds, including Indian men, who married women and had children before coming out. All of his books are grounded in historical research and informed by modern scientific knowledge and understanding.

Ledain grew up in the 1970s and 80s in a deeply homophobic culture, struggling with his sexuality and the looming threat of AIDS, which ultimately claimed his brother’s life. Today, he is part of the Rainbow Dads podcast team and has guested on numerous other podcasts, discussing topics like being a gay dad, coming out later in life, and discovering his sexuality. He continues to write about these issues as a means of self-discovery and support for others on similar journeys.
