Kinshuk Gupta is a medical doctor, bilingual writer, poet, and translator based in New Delhi. His work, which frequently explores themes of books, gender, and sexuality, has appeared in prominent publications like The Hindu, Caravan, Open Magazine, Scroll, Times of India, The Indian Express, The Hindustan Times, The Deccan Chronicle, and others. Gupta has received several accolades for his literary contributions, including the Dr. Anamika Poetry Prize (2021), Ravi Prabhakar Smriti Laghukatha Samman (2022), and Akhil Bhartiya Yuva Kathakar Alankaran (2022).
He has been longlisted for prestigious awards such as the People Need Change Poetry Contest (2020) by The Poetry Society, UK, and the Toto Awards for Creative Writing (2021), and was shortlisted for the All India Poetry Competition (2018) and the Srinivas Rayaprol Poetry Prize (2021). In 2022, he was shortlisted for the Bridport Prize.
Currently, Gupta edits poetry for Mithila Review and Jaggery Lit and serves as an Associate Editor for the Usawa Literary Review. In 2023, he was selected for the prestigious South Asia Speaks Fellowship, where he is being mentored by acclaimed poet and writer Tishani Doshi. His debut book of short fiction, Yeh Dil Hai Ki Chordarwaja, recognized as the first modern Hindi LGBT short story collection, was published by Vani Prakashan.
