Patruni Chidananda Sastry

Patruni Chidananda Sastry is an Expressionist dancer, performance artist, and Tranimal drag performer. He started dancing at the age of seven, and his unique style, called ‘Expressionism,’ offers a new way to tell stories and create awareness in society on matters of relevance, particularly queerness.

Taking his dance form to national and international platforms, Patruni’s interdisciplinary work has created a new pedagogy of performance, which many might consider avant-garde art and a postmodern approach, given that the dance form blends seamlessly with the folk music of a bygone era.

He has performed at over 1,000 shows, conducted more than 50 workshops, and delivered five TEDx talks, in addition to participating in several fashion walks and digital performances across various mediums.
