Simran Shaikh Bharucha is a dedicated trans woman and human rights advocate with a 24-year career focused on the rights and representation of marginalized communities across India. With a Ph.D. in Trans Psychology and a Public Health degree from Johns Hopkins University, she has consulted for both national and international organizations on gender and sexual minority issues. Simran co-chairs a sub-committee in India’s Ministry of Health focused on creating a gender-sensitive framework for tuberculosis elimination and serves on the International Resource Group for Transgender People, advocating for trans rights globally.
