Sudipta Das

Sudipta is a Dalit queer feminist journalist, gender expert, and writer with extensive experience in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and queer-trans rights. They work to bridge regional, national, and global policy engagement spaces, advocating for equitable, accessible, and quality SRHR services for gender-diverse adolescents and young people. Sudipta’s writing often addresses issues of caste, queerness, health, and culture, contributing to outlets such as Indian Express, Swaddle, Queerbeat, VillageSquare, MaveliNadu Collective, Feminism In India, and Sangya Project. Their work is deeply rooted in the narratives of those directly affected by social inequalities, offering nuanced insights into the complexities of social justice. Sudipta received the 2021 SCARF Media for Mental Health Award for excellence in reporting on mental health and was awarded MaveliNadu’s non-fiction grant in 2022 for contributing to a publication on Debrahmanising Gender, as well as CREA’s Storytelling grant in 2023.
